Richard B. Cheney, prominent public servant and businessman, is the vice-president. Cheney has been a prominent figure in Washington for many years. George W. Bush was the fourth president Cheney, who he served. Bush announced the nomination of Cheney for his vice presidential running partner in July of 2001. Bush cited Cheney's wisdom as well as his judgment and expertise. Dick Cheney is a former Chief of Staff of a President, he served in Congress as well as the secretary of defense. Both Republicans as well as Democrats respect him for his integrity. Cheney claims he's an honest and discreet adviser for Bush in his administration. In accepting the Republican vice-presidential nod Cheney stated that he looks forward to working with an administration that will strive to get things done by reaching across the partisan aisle as well as working with opposition politicians to achieve a mutual goals. Richard Bruce Cheney born Jan 30th, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska, the son Richard Herbert Cheney the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. The family moved from Casper, Wyoming with his family when he was 13. He was raised by his father who worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, directed the soil conservation district of Casper.
